Yupia May 20: In pursuance of the instruction from the Commissioner (Education), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for opening of the bank accounts of the students of Papum Pare District, Bank Melas were conducted at the Circles/ Sub Divisions in the district under the supervision of the concerned Administrative Officers.
In the Bank Melas officials from the different banks participated and opened new accounts for the benefit of the students. Further, the BRCs, CRCs, BEOs, Principals and HMs participated in the Mela to facilitate the students and their parents to open bank accounts.
As per the report SBI, Rural Bank, Apex Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India etc participated in the Melas, and within next 2-3 days the students are expected to get their accounts opened. The Mela will continue till 24.05.2022 at various locations at Mengio, Toru, Doimukh, Gumto,Balijan, Sangdupota,Leporiang, Sagalee, Parang, and Silsango. Students and their parents are advised to visit the Melas for bank account opening. This will be a great leap for financial inclusion and direct benefit transfer to the students in the coming future.
