Assam officials carried out eviction in Dolung Ramghat area of Taraso Circle

NAHARLAGUN, Aug 07:  The Assam’s Biswanath Chariali Forest officials alongwith police force on Sunday carried out an eviction drive in Dolung Ramghat village under Taraso Circle in Papum Pare district.

Papum Pare Deputy Commissiiner Sachin Rana has confirmed the incident, Rana said that Assam forest officials alongwith police force of Biswanath diatrict, Assam has demolished an OBT (under construction structure) today morning.

“I was informed by Biswanath Deputy Commissioner yesterday that some people are undertaking construction of an (OBT house) claiming the area falls in Assam side”, DC Rana said.

A team comprising Balijan Additional Deputy Commissioner Taso Gambo, Deputy Superintendent of Police along with local administration, Gaon Burahs, public of the area went and inspected the site. The team upon inspection found that the eviction has already been done.he added.

According to sources, Assam officials demolished the OBT structure in the morning hours before the arrival of the Arunachal team.

The Deputy Commissioner requested the people residing in boundary areas to restrain themselves from carrying any such activities in disputed areas by the people living in both side of the boundary.

“Since the boundary dispute settlement discussion is going on between the two states of Arunachal and Assam, we should restrain ourselves from engaging in such activities so that a peaceful situation prevails among people residing in both sides of Assam and Arunachal boundaries.

DC Rana said that while Papum Pare district administration has conducted its meeting regarding boundary issue with the Assam and Biswanath Charali district, which shares its boundary with Papum Pare, is set to hold discussion on August 11,2022.

The joint inspection team of Arunachal-Assam will soon conduct their inspection of border areas which are disputed, DC Rana added. He hoped that the joint inspection would be held after August 15 and the initative by both the state government may resolved theing pending issue between both state of Arunachsl Pradeah and Assam.
