ITANAGAR, Sept 6: A man from North Lakhimpur district of Assam has been arrested by Kra Daadi police for secretly taking photos and videos of female teachers and others at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Tali sub-division. The incident occurred in the common bathroom of the school on Friday.
Kra Daadi Superintendent of Police, Sumit Jha, informed that the accused, Farriuddin Ahmed (33), is a relative of the school’s headmistress. He had allegedly been capturing illegal footage using his mobile phone. “Most of the victims are teachers, and there are nine victims in total,” said SP Jha.
Ahmed, who hails from Village Solmoria in North Lakhimpur district, was suspected and later caught by the victims themselves. A complaint was lodged, and a case has been registered at Palin Police Station under Case No. 16/24, with charges framed under Section 66E of the IT Act and other relevant sections.
A lady officer from Itanagar has been assigned to handle the investigation, following established protocols. Ahmed will be produced before the magistrate for further legal proceedings, added SP Jha.
