APP to establish 20 bedded Covid hospital at PTC with all facilities for police personnels

ITANAGAR, 04 May: The Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) is going to start a 20 bedded hospital at Police Training Centre (PTC), Banderdewa with the help of the health department to treat police personnel infected with Covid 19 virus. Talking to press here on Tuesday DIG headquarter Madhur Verma said APP has written to the health department in this regard.

“20 beded hospitals with oxygen support will be set up at PTC. Health department will provide us doctors and other staff. This will immensely benefit the police personnel who are frontline workers in the battle against Covid 19. We have also sought oxygen concentrators for the police department,” he said. Further he said till now 35 police personnel who have returned from election duty in states like West Bengal and Assam have tested positive for Covid 19. “Good thing is that most of them are asymptomatic. We are conducting RAT tests of all jawans on their return with the help of the health department,” said DIG Verma.

The DIG also shared that APP is making an all-out effort to ensure that the public follows the SOPs of Covid 19.  

“Police are manning 14 interstates and several intra state check gates. Till now Rs 6 lakhs fine has been collected for violation of Covid appropriate behaviour. 2 arrest have been made and 3 FIR have been lodged,” he said.The DIG Verma further informed that 12 thousand police personnel are eligible for vaccination.  

“Around 8 thousand vaccinated have received the first dose and around 3800 many have received even the second dose. We are regularly monitoring to ensure that all police personnel are vaccinated at the earliest. SPs have been asked to monitor,” he said..

The Welfare wing of APP is trying to make Covid kits containing essential items, medicines and other items for the police personnel infected with Covid and has written to the Health secretary for support. He said.

The DIG further appealed to all sections of society to understand the Covid behavior and obey the advisory and guidelines of the state government, health department and district administration for the safety of the health of the people of state.
