ANSU served 15 days ultimatum for transfer of Niharika Rai and dropping of criminal case

ITANAGAR, The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) demanded the state government to immediately transfer incumbent Commissioner Education Niharika Rai from the state within 15 days.

Addressing media persons here at Arunachal Press Club (APC) ANSU general secretary Gora Rikam Bhai alleged Rai of inefficient in discharging her duty.

ANSU has submitted a 14 points memorandum pertaining to the education sector, but commissioner education and education minister have not paid any heed to the demands and hardly few points have been considered, he said.

She is overburdened and unable to discharge her duty sincerely and even in spite of the state government declaring a year of massive educational activities has not been taking place in proper shape. The transfer posting of teachers are taking place but the relievers are not joining the place of posting seems to be a failure of the policy. Hundreds of teachers as per information has been deputed in other works and given other assignments is another matter of great concern and they should be immediately posted to the school so that the teachers strength are increased. He said.

The DBTL policy in rural area has been miserably failed due to non availability of internet facility,

Moreover, Arunachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) examination which was mandatory by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has been put on halt till date, lamented Rikam.

The encroachment of land of educational institution is a matter of great concern for the development of education scenario and in spite of several meeting with the department and state government the issue is not taken up on priority and the matter is still pending and the all the schools of state not been given proper land allotment/LPC till date. He said.

“Under the facts and circumstances ANSU will not abide the lackadaisical attitude of the commissioner toward students communities, she has no rights to hold any office of the state,” said Rikam.

Earlier ANSU demands for immediate cancellation of notice inviting tender (NIT) for procurement of school uniform by director secondary education, teacher annual fund for government run school of Nyishi inhabitants, immediate recruitment of TGT & PGT teachers, revoke Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) system against students from pre-primary to senior of Nyishi inhabitants area, teachers’ activity centre, permanent office building for office of DDSE at capital complex and introduction of Nyishi dress as school uniform of Nyishi areas.

On the other hand ANSU also demanded the home department to drop a criminal case against the executive members of ANSU which was lodged by DySP Moyir Basar Kamdak.

In a FIR Kamdak alleged ANSU president Nabam Dodum for assaulting constable Tato Mosu who was on duty at the main gate of civil secretariat on 17 August last.

ANSU stated that the registered FIR against the CEM was fabricated without any iota of truth, we have been invited by the Chief Minister office for an interactive meeting and accordingly we were not allowed to enter the civil sectt and the incident has happened but filing an FIR is beyond the indignation as the AP Civil Secretariat belongs to all and we were not by forcely entering but were invited by the Chief Minister office. He said.

The ANSU will not tolerate such action and the commissioner Education has to be transferred within 15 days or else the union will launch a democratic movement.  Rikam added.

Rikam further said that an ultimatum to the chief minister has been submitted today with a request for immediate transfer of Commissioner Education Niharika Rai and dropping of the criminal case registered against ANSU central executive members within 15 days.
