Alliance Air’s first made in India DO-228 Flight lands at Tezu

TEZU, 02 June:  In a significant developments in civil aviation, a made-in-India Dornier 228 aircraft, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), first time landed here today at Tezu Airport from Dibrugarh with two passengers on board, marking the start of inter and intra-state commercial flights in the northeastern-most state of the country.

“The flight is normal like other commercials journey. It cost Rs 1600 for each and takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to reach Tezu from Dibrugarh. I extends my deep gratitude to Central and State government to connect Tezu headquarter of Lohit in the aviation map which will largely benefit for emergency services especially health and education sector including promoting tourism”, says Ojimso Tayang senior citizen from Tezu. He and his better-half were the first two passengers making a historic maiden landing.    

Speaking to the media Captain TS Negi and Flying Officer Nishit Tare view air connectivity getting a new boost, rural economy of the state will witness a sharp rise in days to come. Tezu and adjoining districts having tremendous tourism potentials including famous Parsuram Kund a pilgrimage site get boost due to hike in air connectivity, hopes the duos.

Meanwhile, the flight services are available three days in a week Tuesday, Thursday and Wednesday respectively.  

Earlier, on 12 April 2022, Alliance Air’s First Flight lands at Pasighat where Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju and rest of the passengers including top officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry, Airport Authority of India (AAI), HA and Alliance Air were given a grand reception at Pasighat airport by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
