NAHARLAGUN, JUNE 17 ; Three more persons have been arrested in connection with the doctor assault case of Samaritan Hospital Hormin, Naharlagun. Informed Capital SP Jimmy Chiram.
SP in a message inform that in connection with Naharlagun Police Station Case No-76/21 u/s 448/323/427/506/34 IPC R/W Sec-4 of Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Medical Services Personnel and Medical Services Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Act, 2019 {APPMSPMSI (PVDLP) Act today at 0400 hours the main assailants Honi Taga, Honi Uku and Toko Apa have surrendered at Naharlagun Police station and were arrested. With these arrests, now a total of 6 persons have been arrested. They were earlier rejected anticipatory bail by Sessions Court Yupia. SP said.
They are being forwarded to court today itself. Further, investigation to identify other accused is in progress. SP added.
Earlier, on May 3, Hormin Hospital was vandalized and its doctors were assaulted, allegedly by the family members of a lady patient who died at the hospital. The family members had claimed medical negligence of doctors.
On an earlier occasion the Naharlagun police station sources had informed that two cases were registered from either side.
