29th State level National Children Science Congress inaugurated

ITANAGAR, 29th State level National Children Science Congress, 2021 inaugurated today here at Science centre, IG Park with theme “Science for Sustainable Living” and sub themes Ecosystem for sustainable living, appropriate technology for sustainable living,  

social innovation for sustainable living, design, development and modelling for sustainable living, traditional knowledge system for Sustainable living.

The two day state level young students scientist programme has been inaugurated by Secretary, Science & Technology, Ajay Chagti as chief guest while Director cum Member Secretary, A.P. State Council for Science & Technology C.D. Mungyak was the guest of honour. 

Total 73 projects (Child Scientist) male-24 and female-49 selected at district level from 25 districts including Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) are participating in two days of vigan utsav of child scientist’s State level Children Science Congress, 2021.

Addressing the function, Secretary Chagti, highlighted the importance of NCSC that it is a platform for discovering the talent to fortify the future of Arunachal. This platform is not only about the project but it is a continuous process of development at macro level.  He also gave stress on use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine Learning and Internet of things (IOT), to sustain in technology driven world which is the need of hour. He highlighted the importance of science & technology in the different field of society to achieve the goal of atma nirbharta.  he urges students to come up with innovative ideas and sustainable technologies for brighter and better Arunachal. 

Guest of honour, Director CD Mungyak said that now time has come and the student community should emphasize their study and should try to become a good professional. Every work is now being considered scientifically and due to which technology intervention is necessary and students should also consider the scientific technology intervention in day today life for smooth study and becoming a successful professional in any field.

He appeals to the students to become a role model for others so that other people can get an impression and become a good human being for the welfare of the society and development of the nation. 

National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) is a flagship programme of National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India that encourages children to have inquiry based learning and motivates them to develop scientific temperament and perform small research activities at micro level.  It was made as a platform for the children since 1993 in the country to search for the best science talents and to inculcate a scientific temper and initiate a culture of rational scientific exploration among children to seek scientific solutions for common local problems. Dr. Joram Muthu, Associate Professor, DN College Itanagar, Dr. Mahendra Singh Lodi, Head/Incharge, North East Regional Centre, G B Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE), Dr Jitu Saikia, HOD Humanity & Science, Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic Itanagar, representative of all participating school, teaching faulty, and officers and nodal officers from various district  

The programme was organized by A.P. State Council for Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology  and catalyzed & supported by NCSTC, DST, GoI, New Delhi.
