⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠First council member of TCL Khongman Zongsam passed away

ITANAGAR, 29 JULY : The first council member during NEFA days and a renowned social leader of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) Khongman Zongsam passed away on Wednesday after prolonged illness. He was around 95 years old.

Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly (APSLA) Deputy Speaker Tesam Pongte mourned the demise of Khongman Zongsam, who was the first council member during NEFA days and a renowned social leader of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL).

Pongte in his condolence message said that it is really hard to believe Khongman Zongsam is no more. He prayed to the divine god for his eternal peace in the heavenly abode.

Zongsam was the first council member during NEFA days and was later elected as Zila parishad member from Changlang district in the year 1969.

He also served the public in many capacities as a social worker.

“We lost a great human being from our area and that will create a vacuum in our society but I hope our young generation will  follow his foot print and mindsets to serve our area and society,” Pongte said.

Pongte also poured his heart felt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed the almighty God “Rangfrah ” to give enough strength to overcome the painful days.

Pongte further informed that the last rites of the departed soul will be held on Friday at his native village at Old Changlang village in Changlang district.
